一、签证的种类签证的种类很多。世界各国签发给外国人的入境签证，一般可分为外交签证、公务签证和普通签证。有的国家还有礼遇、旅游、非移民及移民签证。根据入出境情况还分别发给入境签证、入出境签证，出入境签证或过境签证。出境签证，只许出境;入境签证即准许持证入境，如需出境，须再申办出境签证;出入境签证，可以出境，也可以再入境;入出境签证，可以入境，也可以出境;多次入出境签证，在证件有效期内可多次入出境;过境签证，只许在限定时间内在指定的入出境口岸经过国境，一般不得前往其它地区。有的国家还根据入境事由把签证分为探亲签证、留学生签证、定居签证、工作签证、旅游签证明等。

二、签证的有效期、有效次数签证的有效期各国颁发护照和签证的机关，对不同的签证，规定不同的有效期限。签证的有效期不得超过护照的有效期。签证的有效期一般为1个月、3个月、半年或1年以上，也有的签证有效期不足1个月;过境签证的有效期一般较短，大多在1周以内。持证人必须在签证明规定的期间内入、出或过境。签证过期必须重新申办。到美国留学可到北京、上海、沈阳等地美国驻华大使馆或领事馆申办签证。签证的有效次数 签证除了有一定的有效期限外，还规定有效次数。有的签证一次有效，即这个签证明使用一次后就失效;有的.签证两次有效，有的签证明多次有效。
