Universities Should Reward Blood Donors
Should university students be rewarded for donating blood or should they do it out of altruistic reasons? As far as I am concerned, I believe that students should not make the donation merely in order to obtain rewards. Yet, institutions ought to devise some incentives to promote blood donation.
To begin with, the act in question is to help or even save the lives of people in need. In view of the notion that prize and punishment should be meted out accordingly, donors should be rewarded for their selflessness. Second, the implementation of various incentives also serves to encourage students to donate blood. As the saying goes, _One good turn deserves another._ Even if donors do demand some repayment, it is utterly justified. Meanwhile, the establishment of the incentive policy also reinforces an advantageous societal system where good deeds are encouraged. Nevertheless, the foregoing points do not justify able-bodied students eschewing blood donation if no rewards are offered. Otherwise, our world would be replete with mercenary individuals; and no society can survive let alone thrive when it is corrupted with selfishness.

My dormitory room is on the second floor. It is small and crowded. The dark green walls and the dirty white ceiling make the room seem dark, and thus even smaller than it is, As youwalk into the room, you are stopped short by my bed which fills half of the room. The two large windows over the bed are hidden by heavy dark gold drapes. Against the wall on your left, pushed into a corner behind the head of the bed, is a large bookcase which is crammed with papers, books, and knick-knacks, Wedged in between the bookcase and the wall opposite the bed is a small grey metal desk. As a college student, it is full of meaning to participate in various camps which are beneficial for us. Among the camps I involved before, the English Summer camp held by our university with a small group of Chinese college students as well as some friends from English Spoken countries made me the most impressive.
There are two factors for my belief. For one thing, I expanded my scope of knowledge for the lecture made by a professor of the Harvard University. Though I have been learning English for almost ten years, getting knowledge from foreign teachers can still be something inspiring. I really want to know about current English countries’ culture, such as education, economy, politics and so on. In this way I could know more about the world and it would help me make right decisions when I graduate from university whether going abroad for further study or not. And it would also help me understand more about our own country. The second reason for me is that the activities also changed me a lot, including English corner, English drama play, interesting knowledge competition and the like. Undisputedly, all these activities can not only help us learn more skills but improve our English.
In conclusion, it was my great pleasure to take part in this activity. I do believe that other kinds of outdoor activities would bring us a lot of advantages, so I would make effort to participate in such activities in the remaining years of my college study.
